    "description": "Temperature and salinity profiles were collected using a Sea-Bird SBE 19plus CTD. Casts were performed continuously for 24 hours over spring and neap tide focusing on the upper water column and only going down to the seafloor once per hour.\n\nContinuous multi-frequency acoustic profiles of suspended ice crystals were collected by an Acoustic Zooplankton Fish Profiler (AZFP) on three occasions for a total of 11 days. \n\nCurrent speed and direction were recorded by a Workhorse Broadband Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) which was moored at 6 m depth for 13 days. \n\nHigh resolution profiles of ocean velocities down to 100 m were recorded using the NIWA Ice Bable kit. The kit consists of three Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs) that each measure current speed and direction in high-resolution at multiple depths; two Nobska MAVS measuring the same at single points; and a Sea-Bird Electronics (SBE) MicroCAT, measuring temperature, salinity, and supercooling characteristics.
