    "description": "An oceanographic mooring was deployed to provide background information about the water column.\n\nA mooring consisting of 15 instruments was deployed on a rope suspended from a tripod on the sea-ice surface. Current speed and direction were measured at 100 m and 200 m using two Aanderaa Seaguard RCM instruments. Salinity was recorded at 50 m, 100 m, and 200 m using three Sea-Bird SBE 37 MicroCAT sensors.
