    "description": "The data presented here are from an installation on the McMurdo Ice shelf that went though multiple sensor configurations during a multi-year research programme on the ecology of the meltwater ponds in the area. The intent of the data was to provide background information on physical variables, particularly temperature and irradiance, but also including deployment of conductivity instruments to address issues around freeze-salinisation and liquid water persistence through the winter period.
