ROV surveys were used to quantify ice thickness and transparency, and to document depth-related transitions in microbial mat morphology. Transects were completed at 0.1 m depth intervals between 10.5 m and 8.5 m, with 10-minute vertical imaging sequences and laser scaling providing an offset of approximately 40 cm. Additional video transects supported float-mat experiments, recording depth, ice thickness, mat type, and floater cover.
