    "description": "One hundred and three (103) individual soil samples (sampled stratigraphically in layers 0-2 cm, 2-4 cm etc) were collected from six pit locations and split into subsamples for organic pollutant, metal and microplastic analysis. In-situ organic remains (total of 15 eggshell fragments, bone, and feather samples) were collected from the pits for radiocarbon dating.  Pits were dug to ice-cement or groundwater, which ranged from 22 cm (ground water) or 34 cm (ice-cement) to 88 cm.
