While the ApRES can observe accretion, quantifying the rate is problematic due to the occurrence of multiple reflections from both the glacial/marine–ice interface and the marine–ice/water interface, and unknown changes in the properties of marine–ice (Vaňková et al., 2021). The values presented should be interpreted as an “apparent accretion” rate as described by Vaňková et al. (2021).
